Did you know…The Baptist church was organized in Tipton, MO in 1865. It was a healing year for the country after the traumas of Pres. Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, and the long and bloody civil war finally came to an end. Our Baptist church ancestors were dealing with a scary time in our country’s history and craved a place to fellowship and worship God, and seek out his desire for them during the unknowns that were part of the changing times. They built the original Baptist church where the Tipton Masonic Cemetery is currently located in 1867.
